Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March in 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released on Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn recognition. Her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music to the Internet in 2012 when she launched her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound, as well as her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to use it with Rihanna. The announcement of her decision to sign with Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat was a track was written by her and Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and also performed as the opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she went on to be a guest on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream dropped on September 5, 2018 with a music video. She released her second single, Grampa on November 9. In November 2013 she released her debut album No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole on The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The track was accompanied by the music video which debuted that was released on February 20, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube in one week. She supported the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
